We will begin with Mass celebrated by Bishop Flores at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 10am. A luncheon with follow at the SAS Community Center (gym). This is when the school children will perform. Mrs. LaBeau will be notifying everyone of their part next week. We hope to see you all there.
Kindergarten through 6th grade will take the IOWA test the week of September 18th-22nd. Please ensure your child has a good night's rest, a nutritious breakfast and is present at school on time.
These tests are not a pass/fail type of test. We use the results to help guide instruction and measure each student's growth. The results will be shared in the spring after it is administered a second time.
The first fundraisers we have are Raffle Tickets for the Fall Festival, Christmas Poinsettia Sales, and SAS Holiday Market.
Raffle Tickets- Each family is asked to sell at least $100 in raffle tickets. Money from the sell of the raffle tickets will go towards your family's fall commitment. We will send the raffle tickets home as soon as we receive them from the church office.
Poinsettia Sales- I know it seems early to be thinking about Christmas, but our Christmas Poinsettia sales officially begin on Monday, September 11th. These traditional red poinsettias will sell at $16 for a 6" plant with 4-6 blooms. Orders will be due, Friday, October 13th. This allows for delivery of the Poinsettias in time for the Christmas season.
Holiday Market-SAS gym will transform into a one-stop market full of vendors selling all things for your holiday needs. Parents will be given Preview tickets to sell that will provide admittance to a special shopping experience the evening before the market opens to the public. This will be another event that can be used towards your fall commitment. More information will be sent out soon.
