Parent's,
Coach Garcia here to keep you updated and in the loop with all thing's P.E. and your son or daughter!
Firstly, it has been a pleasure seeing your kids participate and enjoy P.E. as a means to improve their health, while also learning movement-skills that will serve as a foundation for future success in staying active, and healthy.
More importantly, we are committed to helping your child become, "A Saint In the Making". How do we do this in P.E.? We train our body to be strong and pure, to be ready for any mission God gives us, and to help others. Here are some focus points and practical ways we have integrated the above mentioned thus far:
Grades Montessori-2
1. Discuss character development: good sportsmanship; respect for parents, coaches, rules and others
2. Reinforce monthly topic of "Generosity" during teachable moments/activities
3. Perform fun obstacle course challenges to develop motor skill, hand and eye coordination, as well as strength and endurance using stations.
Moving forward, a 1 month fitness challenge will be sent with your son or daughter to create an opportunity for parents to support and engage in their child's health and fitness development.
Two ways to support and engage:
1. Help your child track completion of the daily fitness challenge.
2. Partner up with your child and complete the challenge.
ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES & CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
Results are evidence we can use to evaluate progress, however, we understand progress may emerge at different rates and takes support.
We know the following: Helping your child develop a positive attitude about being active will lead to actions that create habits, which place them on the path that lead to positive outcomes to being physically active, and physically literate.
Let's partner up in your child's success!
Respectfully,
Coach Garcia
